I'm 32.

Today, I turn 32.

And it's going to be a good day.  Week, actually.
Actually, it's going to be a great year.
Because I'm alive.
Thank you, Lord!

For my birthday, why don't you tell me one thing I should ABSOLUTELY try, this year.  It can be anything.
{and send Anthropologie gift cards. Lots and lots of gift cards.
I kid.}

Ready, GO!

  1. Abel's favorite gift card is a check with his name on it: "You can spend it anywhere!!" says the economist. ;) He's hilarious.

Have a fab day, my friend! 32 is gonna be great!

  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIEND!!!!!!
You MUST go with your sweet little family to the flower fields of Carlsbad in the spring. The girls would love it and it would just make for a fun day for all of you.

    1. Oh, that sounds just lovely. I know that I would love it. I drove by them one time, a few years ago, and desperately wanted to stop and walk through them!

  4. Happy Birthday dear friend!! This year, you MUST wake up your girls to go dancing in the rain in your pajamas. Run like maniacs through your yard and up and down the street (with caution, of course) jumping in puddles and twirling and singing. Seriously - this has never failed to put a smile on my face and in my heart. :) Many happy thoughts today and always!

  5. "It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

so much to this. i don't have a goal, expectation, assumption, or guarantee of 80+ years, or what have you. i want to stand before Him having LIVED for Him fully.

more and more the gravity of this bears on me. affecting and challenging everything.

we celebrate so cavalierly when it's such a precious and grave responsibility and gift we are given each new day. and not with a goal of having 'lot's' of birthdays, but with a focus and mindset of, did i live and do what He's given us to do, TODAY?

my challenge to you along these lines is to no longer be arrogant in assuming you have tomorrow to do ______. i say arrogant because it is such arrogance for us to assume we have more time.
